Hello, I'm Ellen Cheong

Photographer

Photography, for me, began as a way to preserve cherished memories for my parents, but it quickly evolved into a deeper exploration of light, composition, and storytelling. As a primarily self-taught photographer with studio experience, I have honed my craft through dedication and curiosity. My meticulous attention to detail allows me to create vivid and dynamic images that capture the essence of each moment and reveal the innermost beauty of my subjects.

It's the EllensViewfinder

The name CheongPhoto reflects both my name and the way I see the world—like a green grape (cheongpodo in Korean): fresh, light, and full of sweetness.

I aim to capture life through a viewfinder that favors warmth, clarity, and sincerity. My work isn’t just about the technical craft of photography, but about the way I interpret the world around me. Every frame I take is an expression of what resonates most with me, ensuring that each photograph tells a story from my unique point of view - it's the EllensViewfinder.

Final words from

I have worked in a studio environment, where I developed strong skills in lighting, composition, and directing subjects. In addition, I've also gained experience in photojournalism through my work with Blue & Gold Yearbook and Cal FAST (Fashion and Student Trends).

My passion extends beyond a single genre—I aspire to explore a diverse range of photography styles and storytelling techniques. Whether capturing fashion, portraits, or dynamic events, I am always seeking new opportunities to grow.
